A small start

I still want to come up with a larger project, but I do have something small to show off.



I was inspired by the peace symbol charm when I stumbled across it in Hobby Lobby (it was the last one left, so I knew I had to get it). I made a quick garter stitch ribbon using some leftover yellow yarn from my stash, and I had a Peace is Patriotic ribbon, currently residing on my knitting bag.

I've Started

I just started this scarf last night and I'm just about halfway finished.



I dunno why, but it makes me think Harry Potter.
I'm thinking I will have enough of this yarn leftover to make a hat to match. We shall see.

Happy Birthday

It's my birthday so here's a present

The pattern is done and you can get it here.
You can see I finished the second one that I made for the Knit for the Cure event. This one is, obviously, for Breast Cancer Awareness, but the pattern is the same concept.

If any of you end up using the pattern, please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

I made a hat and a purse.

I plan on making more hats. I haven't decide where to send them. I am leaning towards homeless veterans.

Ok, so not quite, but everytime I order something online I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve all week until it arrives. And today, this arrived:

RSS feed?

I've been trying to subscribe to this along-blog since it began, but bloglines won't let me add it, saying that it can't find a feed. And to check to see if this blog has an RSS feed. If we don't have one of those, can we get one? How do we do that?

Choker fun

Ok, I'm putting the finishing touches on a second choker. I haven't done the ribbon yet, because this one is going to be for breast cancer awareness, so I have to pick up some pink thread, first.

Here are a couple shots so you can see the modifications I made.





The newer design has more of a scallop across the bottom and uses beads instead of picots. I'll post patterns for both variations and instructions for making it multi-sized.

Car Window Flag

Hi Everyone! I just thought that I would share this with you. I belong to a yahoo group list that provides links to free patterns on the internet. Today someone sent a link to a site that had a pattern for a crocheted car window flag. I instantly thought of the logo that Marnie charted for us! This is something that could probably be knit or crocheted quickly, and you could even pass them out to your friends and family. Like I said, I just thought I would share the idea.

Tie a Yellow Ribbon

I finished one of my two PIP projects. It was really quick and relatively easy. If any of you crocheters want to know how to make one, let me know, I can draft up a quick pattern.

And this is what it looks like on.


It's just crochet thread worked in a simple vintage lace pattern till it's a couple inches short of the desired length. I then work a short extention until the piece fits comfortably around my neck with a little extra for the closures. Then I crocheted a yellow ribbon and attached. The piece closes with a button and crochet loop. I finished it in a morning.

How I felt

Firstly, I love all the ideas people have been lobbing about. Mim's idea to do eyelets laced with ribbon sounds so pretty. The cabled peace sign is super cute. I'm so excited.

As for me, I swatched up some of my llama yarn and felted it. I'm not sure I like it, it's REALLY fuzzy...take a look.
